York and North Yorkshire Rotters
The Rotters The Rotters are volunteers, from all over York and North Yorkshire, who offer friendly advice and expertise to people in their local communities who would like to reduce their waste and save money. Find out which events the Rotters will be attending on the Events page. They would be happy to answer any questions you have about composting. The North Yorkshire Rotters project was launched in May 2006 in Northallerton and is now expanding with Rotter volunteers over most of the county. The York Rotters were set up over six years ago and continue to go from strength to strength with a dedicated group of volunteers that work within the city boundary. What do the Rotters do? The Rotters are fully trained volunteers who: - Raise awareness amongst the wider public of the importance of home composting and the Love Food Hate Waste campaign
- Encourage more people to compost at home
- Help those already composting to do so more effectively
- Advise on reducing food waste by effective planning, storing and cooking with leftovers
- Attend shows, events and talks
- Help maintain compost display areas and much more...
The Rotters can also raise awareness through a variety of desk based activity. We will try to find an activity that suits your interests.
